Director, Multicultural Media
D.J. Vaughn is the Director of Multicultural Media at Walmart, charged with amplifying the brand’s DE&I and cultural engagement strategies and translating them into compelling content, activations, and programs that challenge the status quo. He champions an always-on, 24/7 focus on inclusive storytelling, which is manifested through his oversight of diverse-owned & diverse-targeted media partnerships, innovative sponsorships, as well as new collaborations with diverse influencers and creators that offer both professional development and monetization opportunities. Additionally, D.J. coordinates multicultural content and social series for Walmart, including broadcasts that account for 3 of the brand’s top 5 live-streamed activations and Walmart’s Black and Unlimited YouTube series that highlights important changemakers. Prior to joining Walmart, D.J. managed domestic and international corporate and foundation philanthropy programs, and he created and executed award-winning social and digital campaigns. D.J. is a native of North Carolina where he received his bachelor’s degrees from Duke University and earned an MBA at Wake Forest University.
